johnathan bioHello, you can call me Guillermo or William. I am fluent in Spanish as well as English. Massage therapy is not my job or hobby, it’s my passion. I love to help people out with their stressed bodies by relaxing them and undoing their “knots” or adhesions. My specialty is deep tissue. I love working on tight muscles and loosening my clients up. I’m also good at Swedish massage, reflexology and some thai massage. I usually combine all of these modalities into my massage so not only you can feel relaxed, but you can also feel flexible and ready to tackle the world.
Besides massage therapy I enjoy playing the drums. People can tell by the way I use my tapotement techniques. My rhythm and flow during a massage is enhanced by my drumming skills. I can keep a steady pace or a fast rhythmic pace depending on the client’s energy and comfort.
My goal down the road is to become a chiropractor and not only help my clients feel relaxed but to also help with alignment and posture.

Hola, me puedes llamar Guillermo o Wiliam. Me encanta trabajar en músculos tensos i aflojarlos.

We wish Kathy well, with her Temporary Leave of Absence – Team MPHC.

Kathy combines her techniques from Thai, Swedish & Shiatsu to help unfurl tension. She incorporates trigger point work especially in the shoulder and hip area. Her bodywork training began at The Swedish Institute and continued through brief interludes with myofascial, Alexander Technique, Williamson and Skinner. Always fascinated by the potentials of the human body, as a child Kathy was in awe of Olympic gymnasts. After graduating from SUNY Purchase, where her favorite classes were dance and art history, she moved to New York to further explore her passion in the performing arts. She was a gymnastics instructor before moving on to take many acting and voice classes. Working with master teachers has created an insightful bridge of knowledge that she brings to understanding the body*s intricacies and connections. Her maternal grandfather was a teacher as well but of tap dance. He was Native American and this she believes is also why she has an affinity for Holistic Medicine.

Kathy believes massage can open up communication lines in the body. Getting massage is an important part of one’s journey of body awareness. Each individual has a connection with different power points in the body. Massage helps remind us that these places of potential exist. Ironically these points predominately but not exclusively are found where the energy and muscle pain pool within. Chinese Medicine calls this “stagnant chi.” There is an old adage: “What is within us that stays within us will destroy us. What is within us which comes out of us will save us.” It is important to keep a connection, “a dialogue box’”, opened so that we can be in tune with our body’s messages and articulate them through language, movement or forms that are unique to each of us.
